Pinch, punch - first of the month - no returns!

1st November and the trick or treaters got nuthin' from us once again - HA, HA, HA!
I did say I'd up date what we've been up to since 13th October, so here goes;
Tues.14th - Played St Mark's at Table Tennis - Won 1 doubles, lost 1 doubles, won my singles (3-0, I may add!!!)
Wed.15th - Another Messy Church after school with the kids - another great turn out - over 90 kids. Joel also completed his Cycle Proficiency today.
Thurs.16th - Went round to B&V for the evening for a natter and a bowl of chilli (always very welcome!).
Sat.18th - Had dinner out with Jess's 'boss' and his wife, Rodney & Clare and colleague/friend, Caroline and her hubby, Matt - great food!
Sun.19th - Had the Haywards to lunch and took Christopher to a 'fun swim' with Beavers.
The following week seemed to disappear rapidly. We had the kids first school consultations for the year - well done, as usual! I played T at squash and for once I actually managed to win a couple of games - all on a full stomach. (Note to self - always eat dinner just before playing squash - it seems to help!)
As mentioned in the previous blog (I think!) it was Christopher's 7th birthday on the 23rd and because it was a busy day we celebrated it on the Friday as the kids were off school, as was Jess. We went bowling and had a great time and then came back home and the kids played on the Wii.
The half-term week has come and gone and thanks to the naff weather we haven't done much - apart from a trip to the park; a trip to Wear'M Out; and a trip to IKEA - exciting, eh?! Joel and his friend Nicole went to a Light Party at church last night and had a blast. Lots of games, food and fun.
Oh yeah - we have now had the carpets all fitted, so the loft conversion has well and truly been completed. Here's a photo or two for ya (taken with out new Nikon D40 - mine and Jess's joint Christmas present to each other this year!)

As for tonight, we've got T&D coming over - should be good, especially if we get the games out!!!
Well, it's the start of the Christmas count down now. For the next seven and a half weeks it'll be 'Mary's Boy Child' in the shops; countless sightings of fake Santa's all over the place; more people going into debt; any excuse for me to go to Notcutts garden centre and peruse their Christmas tat; and a great excuse to buy another bottle of Winter Pimms - and on a day like today I could certainly relax with one in hand (it's lashing down - it's cold - and it's grey - hence my opening 'toe tapper'!).
Until the next time!

Slightly gutted that you have finished your loft before we've finished ours! It looks great though x
